Japanese Gum

I used to know this girl
Who gave her love away
To every guy she met
And with all the games they played
She never seemed to cry
She never got upset
And one by one they came
And one by one they left
I thought that I could fix her
If she would let me in
But all of my advances
Were shut down in the end
When days turned into months
I begged her to explain
And this is what she sang

It's not like I'm a slut...

Transformation and Escape

Posted 02-10-2009 at 05:51 PM by Monkeybird (Graciously Impatient)

1.
I reached heaven and it was syrupy.
It was oppressively sweet.
Croaking substances stuck to my knees.
Of all substances St. Michael was stickest.
I grabbed him and pasted him on my head.
I found God a gigantic fly paper.
I stayed out of his way.
I walked where everything smelled of burnt chocolate.
Meanwhile St. Michael was busy with his sword

I found Dante standing naked in a blob of honey....

'It is worse than you may allow yourself to think. Delve into the depth. Stay with the feeling. Think of it as a precious source of knowledge and guidance. Then and only then will you be ready to face it and be transformed in the process.'

A Guide to Derelict Vandalism by BANKSY

Posted 02-08-2009 at 12:00 PM by Monkeybird (Graciously Impatient)

  • First off, stencil anything. If you wait for the perfect idea you will be waiting for ever. Cleverness is never as entertaining as blatant stupidity, failure and public humiliation
  • Obtain a fucking sharp knife. Blunt knives result in fluffy pictures and make the whole process long and boring. Snap off blades of British steel are best.
  • Draw your artwork on paper, glue onto some card then cut straight through the both. Acetate is apparently quite good but any sort of free cardboard is okay.

How to Be An Elitist Bastard: A Guide to "Faking It"

Posted 02-07-2009 at 10:38 AM by Monkeybird (Graciously Impatient)

Trust me; you don't want to learn everything about rock and roll. It's a pain in the ass having a brain filled with worthless trivia about worthless art. It's impossible to learn more about rock and roll without hating rock and roll more than before. That's how I became the twisted old monster that I am today: knowing stuff. I used to be a fresh-faced teenage genius, in love with music and in love with the world. Then I started learning more and more; now I see every rock band as an exotic symptom...
