Bookman WeeklyFeel the need to discuss the newest exciting chapters of D.Gray-man? Probably not..ah well, you can go now. Just kidding! Chapters released weekly shall be announced and discussed here. No spoiler tags needed!
It's official! D.Gray-man is back! Now appearing in the monthly Square Jump (published by Shueisha), there's hope that no more hiatuses will occlude this unfolding story. On November 4th, the December issue of Square Jump will hit the streets, bringing us the much-awaited 188th Night of D.Gray-man!
When we last left off, Hoshino had deluged us with a 50 page chapter packed with information from all angles.
We met the remaining Noahs, including the last and newest one, the "Demon-Eye" Wisely, whose awakening signaled the next phase of the Earl's plan, sending the Noahs out to attack the Exorcists simultaneously, no matter where they were. The Earl mentioned searching for a replacement for the deceased Skinn Bolic, and spoke of finally bringing an end to the long war.
Meanwhile, in Jordan, Allen was caught up fending off Akuma alongside Third Exorcists (the half-Akuma members of Crow) Tokusa and Madarao, when Tyki showed up and attacked brutally, maiming Tokusa. The three went into hiding, where Madarao and Tokusa shed some light on the "Alma Karma" to a disbelieving Allen, before Tyki, Cyril and a third (currently unnamed) Noah attacked again, killing Tokusa and badly wounding Madarao.
Nearby, while Link frantically searched for the missing Thirds and Allen, Kanda was accosted by Wisely while crossing the campsite. Wisely recognized Kanda for what he was, and stated that he would be using Kanda's brain. Exactly what he meant, of course, wasn't clear at that point in the chapter...
At this time, the North American branch of the Order -- current residence of the Alma Karma -- was being approached by an intruder... the Earl himself.
So where will Hoshino take us next? Stay tuned for the 188th Night to see what's next!

Methinks the Earl is counting on the 14th to come out. Why else would he bring Allen to the area? If the Earl just considered him a boring exorcist, methinks he would've let the three Noah kill him.
I think Earl's got quite the bone to pick with Allen for being the cause of his nightmares- let alone being the host for the 14th. (Though I am curious about what happened, did Tyki and co. just kill the thirds and take off letting Allen follow them?). Maybe he's either going to finish Allen off or pull him along for some other bigger plans. Or maybe he just wants to force Kanda and Allen to fight somehow (if Earl is going to make Kanda go beserk) so Allen will have to hurt his comrades, you know for fun?
Though I'm a bit surprised Lulubell isn't around for this considering she hates Allen for their last encounter.

I haven't been this anxious about a manga ever. Oh my God... KANDA.
Okay, so Earl talks about bringing God into darkness. But Road said in the Rewinding Town Ark that the Noah are the true apostles of God. If they really are, does that mean that they've betrayed God or something... Or God betrayed them...? Since Earl also says he can't forgive Innocence and Innocence is supposed to be God's crystal...
I love where this is going. I have not realized how much I've missed the Noahs torturing some exorcists action. Though I do feel bad about Kanda and even Alma angst. =D *When's the next chapter? January, Feburary?*
I kind of wonder if the Noahs feel that it was "their" God who has been thrown off track of sorts and want to bring God back to whatever they believe God should be. Such as the idea of of Who/what is God has been disorted and that's why they are the true Apostles while the exorcists or the apostles of what they think of as the the wrong belief.
Maybe kind of like the Muslim, Jewish, Christian/Catholic God being one and the same but each group considers themselves the correct followers in their belief system.
Or maybe they just have a different definition of God from the standard or Road's just a liar because she likes mess'in with people. XP
I have no clue about the Innocence. Maybe Innocence that was lost from God rather than given to the world and therefore it's not so good, somehow? (the akuma souls would digress though) Or Innocence abandoned God? I don't know, maybe the dgm God is different from what we or the characters think *getting scifi thoughts of a sudden*.
Jump Square is monthly, so unless the series is suddenly on hiatus again, there should be another chapter next month.
Judging by the small box on the bottom left corner on the last page of the chapter, it's going to be released in January.
This chapter is awesome as expected! How can the Order pit two 10 year old children against one another? The American branch is in big trouble, because there is no way Allen would be able to handle the Earl, two Noahs, what seems like 10 Level 4s and a potential "going to go on a killing spree" Kanda. So if Hoshino wants everything to turn out well, then Allen needs backup. So either the 14th appears, or any other Exorcists appears. I'm hoping for Cross

It seems to me more like a seasonal manga than monthly one I'm expecting Cross too
Somehow the actions of the Order don't surprise me at all. After the Third Exorcists I expected cruelty of that caliber. Wisely said it very well, there're things that should not be meddled with..
Just knew that the 'Adam' thing will show, it was kinda inevitable
Cheryl's ability looks so cool , gah I'm starting to like him
Kid Alma looks ridiculous and so friendly, it's so hard to imagine him massacring
and kid Kanda has short hair
Some unimportant notices (since I love to notice irrelevant stuffs)
* Road and Wisely called Kanda beautiful (can't argue though, all Kanda panels are wonderful )
* love this page and especially Lavi (points at bigger earrings)
* here, is Kanda sticking out his tongue or am I delusional cuz it's 5 a.m. here
This chapter was pure awesome!
Can't blame Road for thinking Kanda was beautiful...
Poor kanda, chopping alma up until he stopped regenerating
Sheryl abbility is telekinis,(oddly similar to Maria's ability) does that mean he can read minds as well?
But this page seriously worries me http://www.onemanga.com/D.Gray-Man/188/01/,
end of the virtual 19th centruy!
Does this mean D. gray will end after this Arc!?
No, they're just saying that DGM is set near the end of a virtual 19th century.
Then they're saying the 'our world is coming to an end' thing about the way the plot is going. Destroying the world does seem to be connected to the Noahs' aim, so...who knows what's going to happen.

The word 'virtual' is a mistranslation actually. The better translation would be a 'imaginary' or 'fictional' 19th century.
I'm rather confused about the Earl's aim in destroying humanity at this point. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but wasn't it said that the Noah are the Second Adam of humanity and that humans are their descendants. If that's true, why would they want to destroy their own children? It's one thing about getting rid of the 'Heart', the Innocences, the Exorcists that uses the Innocence and the Order that supports it, but to perform genocide on humanity...
NEEDS MORE CHAPTERS!!
And yes, Road, Kanda is beautiful~ Yes he is just don't let him hear it. And I love how the Chinese forums call Kanda as Yu-hime.
I'm afraif i have no intelligent theories to add. All that was going through my head reading was/is " Jesus Christ! WTF?! Holy Shot, Holy Shit, Holy shit!! and on and on..

same here
All I can say is...
OMG ROAD?!
and that Wisely is cooooool
Yes, Wisely is awesome and hawt. ( none of you ever heard me use that term)
I think that's Road's real body coz the episode where Lavi asked her when is she going to fight, she appears as some sorta rag doll too.
If Kanda fuses with Alma... I... might throw something at my laptop or something =3= but first they have to break the seal on Alma but Wisely could probably read Alma before they do anything.
DON'T KILL LVELLIE!!! He has almost all the answers regarding the Second Exorcist project and the going-ons of Central
^I agree with you. Leverrier can be annoying at times, but it won't do any benefit to the plot to kill him. Not to mention Link is going to be heartbroken.
I don't think Kanda is going to fuse with Alma or the like. It seems more like they want to awaken Alma and together with Kanda, go on a killing spree on the American branch.

I stick with the idea that maybe God has betrayed Earl and the Noahs. If they really are the true apostles of God - meaning if Road didn't tell a big fat lie to mess with Allen all the way back in the Rewinding Town Arc - then it would seem quite possible. I wonder who God really is.

Maybe she's just working on getting back on track.
As much as I love Cross, I would seriously hate if he popped up. It's just so cliché and what reasons would he have anyway? No, then it's better if it's some General that is alive, like Sokaro or something, or maybe some of the other Exorcists. Not that I know how that would happen.
...He's sticking out his tongue...

*Toss is not amused*
I have to say that Lvellie has really grown on me lately. And he actually looks somewhat good in this new style. His hairstyle is still fucking weird but meh.

Thank you NadisAten, Pika.

Well you never know, we all thought 14th would pop up in the Timothy Arc because there was no way they'd win...and he did. Though he only provided a distraction for Kanda unitl he woke Allen up. Considering the gravity of the situation and the harm Allen may come to, 14th could pop up a little, though I wonder if it just wouldn't be replacing one devil for another? >_>

Yeah. I've seen it being used a few times. I think it's pretty harmless... I mean, Kanda is pretty. So says Road and Wisely agrees.
*Snort, Lenalee you've just been demoted*
Speaking of pretty Kanda, was I the only one who though babyKanda looked like a miniture Lenalee?
Oh and does anyone get a weird feeling from these panels of what looks to be Kanda in a tub of liquid? Did they keep the poor kid in a tub and Kanda just didn't have more motivation to get out in his free time until Alma came along? @_@
Jeesh, all in the name of science my foot.
Btw, Renee looked very pretty. I didn't really recognise her until later.
A thought just struck me, reading all your posts. The Earl claims to be "Adam", who was the first man and who was chased and banished from Eden because he and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. Could it be that the Earl is going against God because he was banished from "Eden", and this is his way of taking revenge?
If that be his motive, I can understand why Road claimed that the Noah were the real Apostles of "God" - "God" here could actually mean the Earl himself, maybe Road was just using it metaphorically. The Earl was angry at being banished from "Eden", and now he wants to destroy the rest of humanity and repopulate the world with his own chosen ones - the Noahs. I know it is said all humans have the Noah genes. But again, not all humans will awaken with the Noah memory, and perhaps the Earl wants to repopulate the world with these few chosen humans (who have the highest probabilty of awakening the Noah memory). I'm not sure really, but this scenario seems kinda likely to me right now. But I need moaarr chapters !!
Poor Kanda... I feel so bad for him!! And I totally understand him now, and why he did not want to be close to anyone in the Order. How could he, when he was forced to fight against the very first friend he made?! Damn you, Central
And Allen... oh Allen!!
....Things are certainly getting bleaker in DGM
*waits impatiently for the next chapter*
