D.Gray-man The 194th Night - Scanlation and Discussion

Hellooo, Dgraydivinity! It’s your friendly neighborhood moderators here, Hikamitz and Thebes, bringing you The 194th Night of D.Gray-man this month.

Last month’s chapter, appropriately titled, “Friend”, was a real tearbender tear-jerker. Just when it seemed Kanda had finally realized how much of a friend he had in Alma, it was already too late.

The chapter starts off with Kanda, not knowing whether to die or not, dreaming about that flower garden where he rendezvous with “Ghost Lady”. Finally,we get to see her face, and it’s surprising to see she was quite young, possibly a teenager. A disembodied voice says “I’ll wait forever…” and Kanda starts violently thrashing about.

Just as he confesses he can’t possibly die with the strong feelings he has for her, he finds himself synchronized with a piece of innocence! Fate is sure cruel, eh Kanda? He uses it to escape his chamber...wherever that is.

At first, Kanda’s mood is so foul he wonders if he should just kill everyone before leaving. But then, he stumbles upon Marie, who was obviously being prepped to become a new subject for the artificial exorcist project. Kanda’s blood seeps into Marie’s head wound, and Marie wakes up, cured and all.

As Kanda pulls the older exorcists along inside a ventilation shaft, Marie begins to thank him for going out of his way to save him. The boy immediately starts to think of Alma, and all the times he was there for him, despite his initial reluctance. Kanda decides to take him along as well, but of course, it is ALL TOO LATE.

Poor Kanda, just when he found the good in an awful situation, Alma manages to make it extra awful again. Kanda and Marie emerge from the shaft to find a massacre having taken place, and Alma has gone utterly bonkers. He’s regained his memories, AND has somehow synchronized with innocence as well! He rants about how useless the whole situation is, about how they were just like akuma, and most importantly, how he just wants to die along with everyone else (Kanda included).

A battle ensues between the two boys who were once friends. Just when Kanda is too shell-shocked to care, he yet again, remembers that girl’s memory. Then, he slashes Alma hard across the chest.

What becomes of Alma? And will we EVER know who that ghost lady is? Stay tuned for the 194th Night!

泣きながらアルマとバトってるユウを離れた所から見ているアレンとロード
アレン（やめろ）ドクン（もう）ドクン（やめろ）
アレンの左手の甲の血管がピシッと浮き上がる
アレン「こっ…」「こっ　こっ　こっ」ズゴゴゴ
角が生えて怒り顔のアレンにぎょっとするロード
アレン「こっ　こっ　こぉ～～～～～～～～～～」
　「こんの…バ神田ぁっ」
記憶空間？の床がビシっと避ける
ロード「!?」
アレンの左腕がギギギギと恐いことになってくのを（Ｏ△Ｏ；）と眺めてるロード

Tragic that the American branch is destroyed, but there is still some hope with the survivors (if any). Because, either the remaining exorcists level up further or Allen levels up one more.. Alma is a ticking time bomb now. No one can stop something beyond level 4. If Allen uses a combination of Noah and Innocence abilities, perhaps, it might be enough to stop him. =_= The current Alma is too powerful!!

I can't wait to see both Allen and Kanda punching each other in order to wake up though. I can also imagine Alma's face when he asks "Yuu... Is he there?" Like wearing some evil smile standing on top of that broken glass. (Won't be surprised if he asked that on the final page of the chapter leading off to another cliff-hanger... *groans*) Hopefully, these 2ch spoilers only make up the first part of the chapter! *crosses fingers*
Nevermind. *whacks head* Didn't pay attention to the line after that question, which clearly states "the next issue". Jogou... jogou... So, that's a cliff-hanger...

Edit of interest: In the second part of the spoilers, the 2chan poster refers to the color (page?) with Allen and Alma, who's looking like a demon.

So...the story goes back to the present only to have the whole North American branch destroyed with no confirmation of survivors as of yet. If that happens at the end of the chapter...it would be the most heartbreaking cliffhanger ever. (As least to me)

Wow, either Tevak is psychic or the shockwave of the explosion carried to wherever she is. Alma finally wakes up, and the first thing he asks is 'Yu, are you here...?' T^T

... I can't make head or tail about the Trump of Spades, whatever it is. Apparently it's related to Kanda. Some preview of sorts? ok, my Japanese is only this limited

well I will use my post from MH about this 1st spoiler.... like a summary:

I guess (the ending of 1st spoiler) it mentions that next issue will reveal the cover of Volume 20 + chapter will have its own cover (so we will see how cover of vol20 will look like inside next dgm issue)

well the flashbacks ended.... Allen's body hits Kanda's body which generates a discahrge... and this makes wiselee get headache... Kanda is pissed (mostly for allen for hitting him or about this past)

Allen gets up but its too late... almas hate converted into energy like a big egg (at least his body changed into this egg thing).... than earl mentions that alma is like akuma... then order to kill Johnny and everyone involved.... the egg blows up becomeing like a nuke... destroying the whole NA branch instantly... Tewak feels a huge shock from far away.... Alma after releaseing this energy return to his orginal body shape as we see the NA base destoryed... than alma asks if Yuu is there.... chapter ends...

the 2nd spoiler says how Almas body deformed... he is kinda like an akuma now.... has 1 holo/disc above his head similar to level4 and has a tail that looks like sword/spade.......

Oh eeewww... D8 I thought Level 4s looked horrible. Alma deforming into something like a Level 4 is... just... plain eeeww

I doubt there are gonna be many survivors though. Kanda could probably regen and stand up again. Allen can't die now =w=;; Noahs would probably still be there. But can't say so for the rest of the people

Actually it's 'Yu... Are you there...?' coz the text said 「ユウ…そこにいるの…？」 (Yuu... soko ni iru no...?). 'soko' means there, 'koko' is here. So yeah, my bad

well noahs come here to wake up alma... but to pick up allen... so I doubt they will allow him to die..... I wouldnt be supprised if Road saved her allen by pulling him inside a dimension doors of hers (well she must be happy that allen kinda hugged her in that flashback chapters XD) or tyki jumping in front of allen and useing his powers of blocking things he doesnt want to be touched by (in this case explosion)

but more possible is that allen used his cape to save some people (takusa, kanda (who are the closest to him as he stands there).... but it would be good if allen used a door to pull everyone (except leevier as he should suffer the thing he created) in before the blast happens ^^

still the clifhanger is that we see alma saying if "yuu is there".... we dont know if there are any surviviors.... still if there are noahs/level4's they wouldnt live long...

Well the whole Kanda fight was most likely that kanda was slashing him and slashing... so nothing impresive.... personaly I hope that this spoiler is true ^^ becouse I was already sick of those flashbacks... I guess hoshino saw that and decided to stop and go to the point.... or maybe she done it on purspoe.... like

in next chapter the new aku-alma will fight Kanda again... and kinda mention "its the same situation like that time.... (few flashbacks from that fight in past)... than alma might add... "but this time it will you who will die"


anyway what were you expecting ?? that earl will just leave everyone alive without a huge stab into orders back... ^^ he has done what he told from the beggining.... to kill those scientists by useing alma and his hate for order and their experiment (and how they hurt him and yuu by it)...

so no big supprise that alma got pissed by seeing that past again...(and how his friend has betrayed him at the end)... and he busted with huge amount of energy (level4 akumas have huge power too... but alma has the egg fragments in him that is akuma birth place so more powerfull)

so now earl destroyed the base... killed off people... and cna capture allen (and others might think it was allens doing and he went with noahs )^^

anyway I'm glad that the flashbacks ended... the emo-stuff was already boring for many ^^ current development is more interesting (real time world) ^^

I swear those guys at the order just cant catch a break. I expect some tear jerking moments this chapter,although I really doubt that everyone except Allen,Kanda, and the noah are dead.

Somehow I find Wisely saying 'ouchouchouchouchpainpainpain' somewhat hilarious

Road comments that Allen doesn't hold back against them (Noah) Allen's reply was since they had a close relationship anyway.

Rest of the 2nd spoiler is just a more detailed version of the first. Sad, I wish my Japanese was better but they used too much casual forms. Or I would try to translate it.

Let's hope no one important dies. Peck could die for all I care.

Random thought: 2nd spoiler states that Leverrier gets attacked by the tube thingys attached to Alma (I think, but I'm pretty sure Leverrier gets attacked) Where's Link?-_- Your boss is in danger!

Sigh, I don't think the people at the order are ever going to have a break.

So, Alma awakened? And said that? That's...sad. I don't get the whole transformation thing though, is it because he got Akuma cells or is it something else? Hopefully it will be clearer once more is out. ..Wait, if Alma is supposedly more or less "hate", does that make Kanda "love"? Does. Not. Compute.

Also I'm a little disappointed if the flashbacks are ending, they could have lasted so much longer. There would better be some Lavi and Lenalee soon in this case.



...Also, Zibix, I see absolutely nothing boring nor emo in any part of D.Gray-Man. Show me at least one person who cares about your complaints anymore. It's getting old, so please hold your tongue and stop ruining the mood for other people, yes?
