Colosseum Tournament: D.GRAY-MAN (Manga)

Alright guys to start things off with a bang the Colosseum will host a tournament for DGM characters only (from the DGM manga, only)! This tournament allows only 8 entrants. If you want to be entered PM me right away! Two places are already taken which leaves only six places left so you need to be quick!

The 8 entrants each need to create a team consisting of at least two DGM characters. There will be a first round, semi-finals, a third-place play-off and a final. The tournament winner gets rep and glory™.

Each match will be conducted in its own thread. The thread will list both competing teams in the first post. The thread will be open for three days for comments and opinions. The entrants whose teams are competing must give reasons for why they believe their team would win the battle. Anyone else who comments in the thread should give reasons as to why they think one team wins. Every post (with reasons) counts as one vote for the team the poster is arguing for (and this excludes posts made by the competitors themselves). The battle is decided by a majority vote: whichever team gets the most votes wins.

In the event of a tiebreaker, I will decide the winner based on the comments given by the competitors. Posts without reasons don't count as votes.


The team creation system

Each entrant starts off with 150 points. All 150 points need to be used to have certain characters on your team. The more powerful the character the more points he costs.


The Rules

1. You must use all 150 points to make your team.
2. You can't use the same character twice unless the list allows it.
3. You must have at least two characters.
4. Your character can only use abilities that have been used in the manga.

Summary

*The list is provisional: suggestions as to any changes that should be made, or characters missed out are welcome and appreciated. This thread is open to suggestions till this time Friday.

The tournament will start this time Friday given we have enough participants to make it happen. If not, we'll wait till we have enough entrants and then we'll start.

As mentioned before if you want to play in this tourny, PM me right away to reserve your place. I'll PM you back with a number. When you receive the number from me follow the instructions in the PM to get your team of characters set up so that you'll be ready to start.

Once all entrants are set up and ready to go, the first match of the first round will kick things off! I'm looking forward to the tourny...hope it goes wicked! Good luck to those of you that decide to enter.

Alright, I'm still waiting for entrants on this tournament and it can't start without them. So when we get all 8 then we can start!


Looking back over the character list and the set up of the tournament so far, I think it'd be best if Cross' Grave of Maria was banned; Grave of Maria makes Cross faaaaaar too overpowered.

Also, to make the tournament more action-packed, perhaps the entrants should start with more points. I think I'll up it to 150 points so we can get more characters involved. And perhaps restrictions on the top categories could make battles more even and difficult to debate.


So the changes are:

1. Cross Marian is no longer able to use Grave of Maria.

2. 150 Points to use; no more, no less. Your point usage must equal 150.

3. You can only use one character from each of the following categories: 50 points; 45 points; and 40 points (e.g. your team can consist of Winters Zokalo, but if it does it cannot also consist of Cross Marian and/or Froi Tiedoll. Your team can consist of Winters Zokalo and Klaud Nyne because they are in different categories.)

You can only use up to two characters from each of the following categories: 35 points; and 30 points.

You can use any number of characters from each of the following categories: 25 points; 20 points; 15 points; 10 points; and 5 points.


Hopefully these changes can help make the tournament more intriguing.
