Running on forever when there is no end in sight
I want to close my eyes and disappear into the night
And just your look could turn the final key
To seal my loneliness inside of me
Soaring through the clouds that cradle all of those who fly
Without the fear of all their rules, I'm not afraid to try
And so I will search for the brightest star
To change us back to what we know we are
If I can't forgive anyone, where will they leave me when I'm done?
Inside this shining star the darkest night is born
I don't understand, the truth was filled with all their lies
Yet through my heart your arrow flies
And if the frozen night is broken by the storm
There is still a hope, the shadow of a dark desire
A dream I call out to
Despite your sins and the pain that you feel, I still believe in you
Even at a whisper I can hear you want it all
Yet since I've lost so much there is a chance I'd take the fall
My fingers reach for what is left to hold
But I can't feel them through the numb and cold
If you plan to leave love behind, kiss me first then make up your mind
Darkness will come again so long as light is strong
Even in the warmth, we tremble in the wake of doubt
But these thoughts we can't live without
Still my heart holds the vow that I make with this song
Nevermind these scars that cry for what I'm standing for
And cut away my pride
Until the moment my promise breaks through or disappears inside
Inside this shining star the darkest night is born
I don't understand, the truth was filled with all their lies
Yet through my heart your arrow flies
And if the frozen night is broken by the storm
There is still a hope, the shadow of a dark desire
A dream I call out to
Despite your sins and the pain that you feel, I still believe in you

We watched Obama's speech in Swedish class in school today, and I'm so happy we did, 'cause otherwise I would never have done it.
It nearly made me cry! So beautiful! I got teary-eyed.
YES WE CAN!!

@ Tossino- I almost cried when I watched it too it was such an epic speech.
I'm so glad Obama won, I was overjoyed, but at the same time felt bad because my dad was a hardcore Mccain supporter I really feel sad for the people who just genuinely supported Mccain. Hopefully they will take a liking to Obama as time goes on thou
I'm also not understanding why people call Obama a communist or a socialist... their was an interview out, the guy running for the socialist party said Obama is not a socialist... shouldn't he know better then anyone else??? XD And also, Obama couldn't just get into the White House and decide that he's going to make the USA run under socialism or communism- you really think he'd be able to let that one slide?

Yes, it was. I found it particularly sweet that he talked about that old woman. What was her name? Allison something right? So sweet. And that he mentioned us beyound US's shores... That was...
Yeah, I hope so too, because otherwise it'd be sad. o.o

I support Bush, so a lot of those arguments don't really work on me. The reason Obama scares me is because he wants to drastically change so many things, and he has radical plans for the country that are not good ideas at all. And sarcasm? Waving a communist flag around is not sarcastic. It's not appropriate under any circumstances.
I am annoyed at the emphasis people are carrying on tax cuts, as well. The current deficit in the country will not be fixed by collecting less money. Taxes need to remain the same or go up if we want to get anything done on our national deficit, and nobody seems to understand that. McCain isn't the best candidate we could have had as a party, but Sarah Palin is the woman I support for better or worse. She's very intelligent, and the only reason that didn't come across in the campaign is because the party did not allow her to shine and do her own thing. If you look at any of her interviews now that she is back in Alaska, you can see how smart she is, and what a good leader she is and has been to her state.
As for Obama's plans? 100 hours of community service for all college students is one of his ideas for bettering this country (which he doesn't support), and that makes no sense whatsoever. Service is something you need to be willing to do, otherwise it's work. I'd cite more specific examples, but his agenda ~*~magically~*~ disappeared from Change.gov last week.

And what's wrong with it being work?
As someone who has experienced forced community service (40 hours to graduate from highschool), I can honestly say that it really wasn't that bad. Had I not been required to do it, I might never have been motivated to - but it was an interesting experience, one that made me and those I volunteered with feel pretty good about what we did. Sure, people will grumble about having to do it, but when you're actually doing the work it's not that bad at all - and it's a great experience to have. I think that might be a great thing for students to do in order to open their eyes to issues in the world and encourage people to do something about it, something more than just being aware and saying you want change.

Same here, in face my college already has forced community service which I'm a little "uhg" on, however I'm also glad they are doing it so we get a taste of life and learn to appreciate it.

As if what Bush did wasn't radical? I can't think of anything Obama wants to do that's so radical...are you talking about health care? It sounded like a pretty decent compromise on the matter to me... There's really no reason to get so worked up about it anyways. The country constantly goes back and forth between the parties. What you're worried about happening now might be undone someday in the future (which is why our country isn't very productive.)
If you can't take the joke then the joke was probably aimed at you to begin with. It's the other side's fault for labeling him a communist.

No president has EVER won without saying they would cut taxes, so you can only take the promise of "tax cuts" with a grain of salt.
I don't find banning books and making women pay for their rape kits a sure sign of "good leadership" but that's just my personal opinion. The sick thing is that the media hid from the public until AFTER the election the fact that Sarah Palin did not know the basics of civics in this country and that she had a hard time understanding that Africa is a continent and not a country (and no, I'm not making this up. This was on like all the news stations, except for FOX, clearly.) She might be smart, I wouldn't know, but does she understand how the country works? I think that's important for the vice president to know.

Oh whatever. Community service is already practically required for everyone anyway. I can understand being against it in principle, but is it really such a bad thing to be forced to do a good thing? It's not like something like that would pass through Congress or anything anyways.

First of all, the paying for rape kits is charged to insurance companies, and was a measure to lower government spending. (See here) Secondly, she never said anything at all about Africa being a country and not a continent. She's being painted as an idiot for no good reason. (See here) And banning books? Also never happened. ( See here )
Do some real reading before believing everything you hear on CNN or whatever biased media outlet you've been drinking the Kool-Aid with.
As for community service, I had to do 120 hours to graduate from high school. It was a learning experience, but being forced to do it made it lose any value for me. I wanted to volunteer at an animal shelter, but ended up working for hours at a time in hospital kitchens when I'm not supposed to stand for as long as I was. It was miserable, and I have no intention of doing that kind of service again.

...And yet that article points out that nothing was done about the Alaskans who didn't have health insurance to put the costs on. I presume THEY would have to pay for their own rape kits?
The same policy exists in other states. It's not just a "SARAH PALIN IS THE ANTICHRIST" thing. It's a problem with a system, just like there are problems with every system.

Yay conflicting sources. Unfortunately, those sources are not necessarily legitimate. Jezebel.com? How is that a legitimate news source? The abc.com one? You're hearing these things from her aides--of course they'll say good things about her. Michelle Malkin? I'm sorry, but I can never take anything from FOX seriously, especially after they said that the reason Bush supposedly beat Kerry in one of the presidential debates was because "Bush doesn't have to get botox to look good on television."
Honestly I wouldn't give a shit if all of that was false because it's the same for both sides They came up with just as much shit for Obama. Some of it might be true, no one can say for sure, but people are sure as hell still going to believe whatever they want. Still, there's the shooting of the animals from a helicopter and the pork barrel spending she wanted that McCain said he'd stop. But that's actually beside the point. I've heard Palin speak and everything she ever said I disagreed with or found...rather idiotic.
The Africa thing was apparently covered up until after the election. I can't remember which news outlet said it, and I don't care since I don't actually watch the news. They're all idiots. But I heard the things Palin said and that was all I ever needed to hear.
