To recap last week Irie is still going over the parallel worlds and Ryohei doesn't get it, as per usual. Reborn explains how, in various worlds there are various possibilities. Like a world where medical science or the military has prospered. Since Byakuran can experience the world simultaneously, he can use the knowledge gained from each world for his own purposes. For example, how he knew the cure for Genkishi's disease where doctors of that world did not or how he came to discover Belphegor's brother, Raziel.
Irie then reveals that he was the one to "awaken" the Byakuran of the past due to his frequent time travels. He was set up by a subordinate of Byakuran's in the future to send a message to the Byakuran of the past. So Byakuran has had this ability for the past ten years. Ryohei wonders why Irie hasn't done anything himself since he's known this for ten years, but Irie tells him its because he lost his memory. Or, more accurately, he erased his own memory for five years so that he could get close to Byakuran undetected and defeat him. He left instructions to his past self to go overseas and become friends with Byakuran and to later shoot the Vongola with the 10 Year Bazooka.
Then after five years his memory returned and he became a spy. He also learned that of all the possible worlds, only the he was in hadn't been conquered by Byakuran. There is only a 1/8th chance of stopping Byakuran and in only their current world is there the possibility of defeating him. That is because this is the only future in which Irie coincidentally met Tsuna and because of that this world became a miracle.
Gokudera remembers the Lambo of twenty years in the future who appeared during the fight against the Varia mentioning that he didn't think he'd ever see their faces again. And Tsuna also remembers that the him of this time period is dead. Irie surprises everyone by stating that the current era's Tsuna is not dead. He was shot with a special Millefiore bullet which creates the illusion of death. (Gokudera is, of course, deeply moved by this news.) That era's Tsuna told Irie the day before he "died" that the Tsuna who holds the greatest possibilities would be coming soon.
But, as Tsuna points out, they lost Choice. Byakuran pipes up that since they lost, the Vongola Rings now belong to him. Irie reminds Byakuran that, during a game of Choice in University, Byakuran agreed to pay him back with a favor the next time they played the game. Irie request a rematch, but Byakuran claims not to remember such a promise. Irie calls him on that lie, but Byakuran responds that he rejects the request as the Millefiore Boss.
A voice objects to this and Reborn's pacifier begins glowing. Uni appears and claims that, as the Boss of Millefiore's Black Spell, she also has a say in the decision. Byakuran is not pleased with this new development.
