Yeah so like I've decided that Ima try to draw more often. Thus, I'm making a thread to encourage myself and hopefully get some critique so I can improve~
Sadly, I don't have a scanner, so I have to take pictures with my digital cam instead. And so I gotta remind myself not to draw too tiny pictures...

Ah, it's the nose/mouth/eyes position and shapes that make Allen looks unlike Allen. You have to make the lower eye lid less curve up at the ends. the nostril to the left is a bit too far. Hoshino doesn't like to draw pouty lips on her characters, so you have to remove the two lines above and below the mouth line. Then the last thing is to make the chin smaller, almost pointy in that angle.

Well Tossit, you're definitely better than you used to be that very first Lavi...he looked like a potato, of course there's still space for improvement but it all looks good! <3
Okay now... Time for comments and hammering constructive criticism.

First - As you said, her legs are a bit too short, and if I'm not mistaken, you haven't learned to draw hands yet. However the overall look is very good, and also I love the clothes you chose for her.
Second - Quite good indeed! Though...she looks somewhat strict for Lenalee; maybe the nose shouldn't be this sharp and I'm not sure about the eye shape (but that might vary depending on the artist's style). And - the ears. The ear is too small. The hair and the features' placement is excellent though, you managed to get the perspective right, and this is a really nice headshot. <3
Third - Why does Allen look like a frog? :< The nosehole is too far to the left. The eye shape is okay though (as I said, it can vary a little). The ear is of good size here (though why left it curveless?) A small piece of advice: when drawing males, you might want not to brighten out lips like this, and leave the chin a little bit longer. Right now it looks like a girly chin, it's a bit too short. The hair is absolutely gorgeous though, Allen's hair is rather difficult to get right for me personally, and also nice job on the scar.
Now this is a lot better! Once you removed the lips, the chin got a bit bigger, and it resulted in a lot better (maler...is that a word lol) look. Also the nose looks just perfect. I didn't mind the eyes, but they look even better now. The hair was already awesome, so with this fixing, I'm sort of tempted to brand this your best headshot this far. Nice work! <3

The hair is too damp on the top of his head, it's not really Lavi-like, but maybe he was in the rain without an umbrella, so whatever. Also, you messed up the neck a little - Adam's apple doesn't stick like this looking from this angle, the top should be facing left-down instead of left, and the muscle line makes it look like his head normally grows facing to the side and he's holding it turned right now. If you want to draw muscles, make sure to look at reference pictures (or check anatomy, lol), but it's not really bad (unlike some anatomy-defying things I have witnessed), just a bit non-accurate. And the last thing that got me the most, the eyepatch. If the strap in the left was like this, the patch would flop off Lavi's eye with his every step. It's supposed to go through the middle of the patch; at some points he did have eyepatches with differently positioned straps but never like this, it defies the laws of kinetics.
However, I absolutely love his eye and grin, it looks absolutely Lavi. <3 The earring is awesome too, though the ear itself could be a bit bigger once again. The nose is well positioned, and the headband looks great as well.
Definitely ot bad for not drawing him often though keep working on that hair! It makes up half of Lavi's awesomeness . <3

Well, the patch looks excellent now. <3 Could still look better with the neck and hair fixed up though. But right now the flaws don't really catch the eye unless you look for it, the eyepatch was pretty damn obvious. Once you fixed that, it actually looks good.
Very, very nice work, but keep practicing - and I will try to give you all the advice I can think of to make you fucken perfect.

Well, they're difficult. :3 Not as difficult as proper feet though. I'd say, just place your own hand in the needed position and look at it while drawing, or use a photo with needed pose for reference. As long as you're able to draw what you see, it won't be a problem then.

I'm aware of Kanda's chin being a bit... long? I noticed that some manga artists make the chin bigger when a character raises it, and Kanda's like trying to make himself taller for some reason or whatever... I'm not sure I succeeded, though, and heck I could be mistaken in general! XDD

Alright, first off, the panda looks good. Yes, it does! Bamboo reminds me of Mugen a bit but that's all fine. Just that if it's sitting, the legs should be placed in front of it and paws should be visible, and if it's crouching, the butt should be a bit higher up in comparision to feet?.. But it actually looks good, fuzzy, fluffy and squishable, and makes me think of Bookman and Tiedoll.
The Lavi is alright - although there is no problem in the distance from the eye to the nose, in fact it's perfect. What is wrong, is that the eye is a bit too big (unless you intended to draw him as an uke bitch), the chin could be a little longer, and the nose is a weeny little bit too long and sharp. Kanda's supposed to be the Pinnoccio here! Also, the earring. With a barrel of this size, his ear should be stretched down to his shoulder. Also, even though the fingers are indeed great, the bottom part of the hand doesn't look like this. There's supposed to be this slight round stick-out of palm right before the junction to the wrist.
However this time I have no complaints about the neck, ear nor hair - it looks great, and the overall look, while not paying too much attention to the details, looks very good. You're improving on Lavi, that much is certain.
The last picture.. Er, forgive me but since it's Kanda we're talking about.. The only thing that resembles Kanda is the hair. The face is too long, ear too small, chin too long, nose too curvy. Eyes are about fine in shape; it could be slightly bigger but if the face was right this size would fit just well, too. Of course, each artist's style is different, but there are certain things that should be kept in mind. Like face shape. This face you drew isn't Kanda, it's made into him by dumping the right haircut and the right eyes on it (but at least that's something, still - eyes are a very crucial point when drawing manga style, but the face shape still needs to be similar to get the effect). Generally, this face looks like a mix of a potato and a lump of meat. While in reality, Kanda's face is delicate, even when Hoshino does manage to pull the manly look on him. There's a pretty giant difference.
You need to practice on him, my dear. As I said though, the eyes are great, and the hair is okay (though you need to study it a bit better, the side strands don't go from the middle of his head! Still I've seen worse)~
While Link came out pretty well indeed~ Just don't make such a sharp brow corner! Everything else looks good, the ear could be a little bit bigger though, but the face looks.. realistically gorgeous? Also I absolutely love his hair. Like, I seriously want to touch it. @.@ The collar of the cloth also looks good, all in all this is indeed a successful piece.

Yes, of course I did.
I used a reference picture for the panda, and that was how it looked. It was a baby? Although it sort of looks a bit more adult in my drawn picture... It really did look that way, the feet and butt (not so much the face XDD).
(lol, uke bitch.) The only reason the ear would be down to his shoulder is is if the barrel was like HEAVY (I assume that's what you mean? ). There are big earrings like that. I didn't see that the nose was that big before. o_O Huh. (...PINNOCCIO? XDDD) About the hand... I'm afraid I don't quite see what you mean? I know the bottom part doesn't look like that, but I couldn't put my finger on it, and I still can't... ...ah wait, I think I get it now! XDD
KANDA IS HARD D: DELICATE FACES ARE FREAKING HARD! RAWR! (There is a reason I made the chin so long, though. Did you read the text I put under the pictures? If you did, I assume I didn't succeed with what I was trying to do, lol.) I'll keep practising, of course. xD (I figured you'd come with loads of critique about that one cause you're the Kanda expert or whatever here <.<)
